Day1 - Arrive Delhi
Meet and greet on arrival at the airport by Travel Pals representative and transfer by air-conditioned deluxe vehicle to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day2 - Delhi - Bagdogra (by air) - Darjeeling
After breakfast, assisted and transferred to Delhi domestic airport to board flight 9W 602 at 1010/1205 hrs for Bagdogra airport. Upon arrival in Bagdogra, met & driven to Darjeeling - 'Queen of the hills' Gifted to the British East India Company in 1817. On arriving at Darjeeling transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Evening free for leisure.
Day3 - Darjeeling
Breakfast at hotel. Day free on own or optional a guided city tour covering Mountaineering institute. Zoological park, mall road. Overnight at hotel.
Day4 - Darjeeling - Gangtok (94 kms / 2 hrs)
Early morning visit to the Tiger Hill to view the sunrise and the Kanchenjunga peak along with a chance to view the Mt. Everest. On the way back visit the Batasia Loop, Ghoom Monastery. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim state - on the border of India - China. It is often reffered to as the 'Lofty Hills'. On arrival transfer to hotel for check-in. Evening time free to explore the natural and breath taking beauty of hills and the Sunset. Overnight at hotel.
Day5 - Gangtok
After breakfast, take a city tour of Gangtok. Visit the Rumtek Monastery, Nehru Botanical Garden. If one is adventurous, could then try the excusion to 'Nathula Pass' - India - China border line (optional). Mind you, the air is very thin on that high attitude. Overnight at hotel.
Day6 - 06 - Gangtok - Kalimpong (80 kms / 1.5 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Kalimpong - is a remote and pretty hill station, which has been a meeting point of the once 'three closed lands' on the trade route to Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan. On arrival transfer to hotel for wash 'n' change. Afternoon visit Durpin Monastery , Farmer's bazaar and Durbin Dara Hills amongst the river Teesta views. Overnight at hotel.
Day7 - Kalimpong - Phuentsholing (110 kms / 4 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel followed by drive to Phuentsholing. First part of the journey begins gradual climbing to the hill station then passes through the plains; a large range of foothill forests crawling with wildlife, farmhouses, tea gardens, transparent rivers interspersed with quiet villages and small townships of vibrant local culture. On arrival transfer to hotel for rest. Evening free on own. Overnight at hotel.
Day8 - Phuentsholing - Thimphu (176 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Thimpu en route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627, which now houses the School for Buddhist studies and is pleasant with numerous scenic spots for photography. Visit Kharbandi Gompa, this beautiful monastery situated in a garden of tropical plants and flowers, was built by Royal Grandmother, Ashi Phuntsho Choedron in 1967, with a grand view of Phuentsholing town and the continuation of Jaigaon town, a border town of the Indian state of West Bengal. On arriving at Thimpu transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day9 - Thimphu
Enjoy a royal breakfast at hotel, then take a city tour of Thimpu. Visit Dup-Thop Lhakhang , National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, some dating back several hundred years, as well as modern academic books mainly on Himalayan culture and religion, also houses the biggest book of the world; Zorig Chusum (Painting School, students are taught to learn on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan), Folk Heritage Museum, built in 2001, provides fascinating insights of Bhutanese culture and way of life, Textile Museum, houses a fine collection of Bhutanese textiles; Memorial Chorten, built and completed in the year 1974 after his(Third King of Bhutan) untimely death, it is both a memorial of the Late King and a monument to world peace. The paintings and statues inside the monument provide a deep insight into Buddhist philosophy; and visit Handicrafts Emporium: This government-undertaking Emporium displays a wide range of beautifully hand-woven textiles, craft, and a small collection of books on Bhutan, Buddhism and Himalayan culture. Overnight at Hotel.
Day10 - Thimphu - Bumthang
After breakfast drive to Bumthang. On arriving, transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Evening at leisure in the valley on foot.
Day11 - Bumthang
Breakfast at hotel, then a guided sightseeing of Bumthang - visit Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjee Lhakhang, Thamsing Lhakhang & Swiss Farm. Overnight at Hotel.
Day12 - Bumthang - Gangtey (174 kms / 5.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Gangtey, with en route visit Trongsa Dzong. On arriving, transfer to hotel for relax. Evening visit Gangtey Monastery and Phobjikha valley, which is the winter home of the rare & endangered species bird Black Necked Crane. Overnight at Hotel.
Day13 - Gangtey - Wangdiphodrang - Punakha
Breakfast at hotel then proceed to Punakha, enroute visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong, continue drive to Metshina to visit the famous Chhimi Lhakhang (a pilgrimage site for barren couple). On arriving at Punakha - is the old capital of Bhutan and is historically very important. Punakha Dzong, which lies in the riverbanks of Pho-Chu and Mo-Chu, gives you a spectacular view from the road viewpoint. This Dzong has survived numerous catastrophes like fire, earthquake and massive glaciers flood. This Dzong is still the winter capital of the monk body, transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Evening Visit Punakha Dzong, Khuru town and a short leisure walk around the valley.
Day14 - Punakha - Thimpu (77 kms / 2 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel followed by drive back to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, across the Dochula Pass (alt.3050 Mtrs.). On a clear day, with spectacular view of the snow capped Himalayan Mountain range. Evening at leisure in town. Overnight at Hotel.
Day15 - Thimpu - Paro (65 kms / 2 hrs)
After breakfast at hotel drive to Paro, on arrival transfer to hotel for wash 'n' change. Later visit Taa Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan), Rimpong Dzong, Kichu Monastery and ruins of Drukgyel Dzong. Overnight at hotel.
Day16 - Paro
Breakfast at hotel. Day for excursion to Takshang Monastery. Early evening visit a Bhutanese typical Farm House and a leisure time in Paro town. Later, transfer to Paro international airport to board flight for onward destination.
